Rain Matters has been set up to address one of the most pressing issues facing our community – the depletion of our water supply.  The devastating effects of this phenomenon are clearly visible as the water levels of our local reservoirs continue to drop at an alarming rate. 

If we don't act now, this situation could lead to serious drought conditions with the following knock on effects:

		Severe water restrictions that limit the use of water for gardening, washing of cars and eventually, even such luxuries as taking a bath
		A substantial increase in monthly water bills
		Depreciation of property value
		Erosion of our scenic landscape, together with the death and destruction of fauna & flora, leaving nothing for future generations
		Purchase of water for general daily consumption
